A belief is a mental construction.

The Light of Beliefs
Belief is of four kinds.
The first kind is a belief accepted because it is believed by all.
The second is a belief accepted
because it is believed by someone in whom the believer trusts.
The third belief is the belief that reason helps one believe.
The fourth belief is conviction,
of which one is as sure as if one were an eyewitness.

In the province of the mind,
what one believes to be true is true or becomes true,
within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally.
These limits are further beliefs to be transcended.
In the mind, there are no limits...
In the province of connected minds,
what the network believes to be true,
either is true or becomes true
within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally.
These limits are further beliefs to be transcended.
In the network's mind there are no limits.
